Great laser level for the money, plug the battery in, switch it on (slide off the lock) and get going.
Battery was fully charged on delivery too, so no delay in use.
However, Be aware (not beware) if you already have a tripod, check the thread size! My Tripod has a 3/8” (10mm), not the 1/4” or 5/8” present on this device. As the unit would still sit balanced atop my tripod, For my immediate needs the screw threads size didn’t prove to be a problem. I was working alone in my lounge, solid (non bouncy) floor, so could balance the level then carry on with what I was marking up.
The line ‘struck’ is clear, although (as with all laser line devices) if the unit is off to one side at an angle, you may end up with a fatter line than if it was perpendicular to the wall. That’s where skill & judgement comes in.
Value for money, I expect so, it’s a sturdy beast, came in a decent ABS(?) latched box. The laser is bright & clear, can be turned down for battery save or when working in darker environments for example.
You’ll still need a straight edge & tape measure, but you won’t need 3 hands.
I’d buy again, and recommend it. It does what I need, wasn’t too expensive, but wasn’t cheap as chips. I could probably have made do with a £30 equivalent, but it wouldn’t have lasted.
